About Compagnie de Provence
The story of Compagnie de Provence begins in 1990, when two friends from Marseille decide to revive the region's icon: the Marseille soap. This square hand soap is 100% natural and only consists of plant oils, without artificial additives or dyes. This sustainable and multi-purpose cube soap put Provence on the map in the 17th century, but was supplanted by the rise of perfumed soaps and industrial cleaning products. The men behind Compagnie de Provence decided to give this icon a new, contemporary look. In 1999, the brand introduced the traditional Marseille liquid soap in a sleek glass dispenser: the innovative response to contemporary consumption habits. The collection now consists of a rich range of care products in which French traditional know-how goes hand-in-hand with an urban, modern style. In all cases, the authentic recipe of the traditional Marseille soap is strictly followed, resulting in delicious products that not only stimulate the senses, but are also hypoallergenic, antiseptic and antibacterial.
